our story

Hello, we’re Sarisha and Riyaz. Welcome to House of Vedanta.

More than two decades ago, we discovered Vedanta, a philosophy that changed/refined how we think, live, and meet life’s challenges. It brought us clarity, balance and joy. Our journey continues as we share this wisdom, hoping others find the same inner freedom and purpose.

MEET RIYAZ

Riyaz Bharucha is a senior disciple of the internationally renowned Vedanta philosopher Swami A. Parthasarathy. Despite achieving distinction in the fields of Hospitality, Effective Communication and the arts, Riyaz’s deeper interest lay in understanding life and its complexities. This quest led him to undertake the three-year residential course in Vedanta philosophy, at the Vedanta Academy, India. The experience was transformative. Riyaz has since then, devoted himself full time to the research, study and propagation of Vedanta and its practical application to daily life.

For twenty-five years, Riyaz has conducted workshops, seminars and discussion forums for audiences globally. These sessions promote enquiry and reflection, encouraging participants to recognise their own power and potential.

Senior leaders from organisations such as YPO, Victorian Parliament (Australia), EO, EY, University of NSW, Symbiosis Institutes, InfraBuild, Piaggio Vehicles, LGT Wealth and KEF Holdings have benefited from these presentations. His work is also valued by distinguished wellness destinations, such as Ananda in the Himalayas, Tulah Clinical Wellness Retreat and Dharana, where he presents the technique of self-development through self-discovery.

Riyaz is gifted with a singular ability to convey complex philosophical themes through real-life examples, anecdotes and stories that are easy to understand and relate to. His genial manner and engaging style entertain and inform seamlessly. He challenges without confronting, and educates without sermonising. Equally at home in a boardroom as with younger audiences, he delights in sharing the timeless wisdom of Vedanta.

MEET SARISHA

Sarisha Bharucha is a senior disciple of the internationally renowned Vedanta philosopher Swami A. Parthasarathy, and discourses in the field of applied philosophy and self-evolution. With over two decades of dedicated study, teaching and research, Sarisha brings clarity, relevance and depth through ancient Vedantic wisdom — making it accessible to modern minds.

Raised in South Africa and formally trained in the Humanities, her academic journey led her from the liberal arts to the rigorous discipline of Vedanta. She undertook a three-year residential programme at the Vedanta Academy, India, where she immersed herself in the foundational scriptures of life and living. Since then, she has committed herself entirely to the research and full-time propagation of Vedanta as a means of inner transformation and practical living.

Sarisha has addressed audiences across India and abroad, tailoring timeless truths to fit diverse cultural and professional settings. In her dynamic sessions —ranging from corporate seminars to youth programmes, from public talks to weekly in-depth sessions — she highlights the power of the human intellect to manage emotion, overcome stress and live with clarity. Her work with educators, entrepreneurs and parents alike shows how philosophy is not abstract, but the very foundation of a fulfilled life.

Her message is simple yet powerful: true success and peace lie not in the world outside, but in developing strength and understanding within.

Our Inspiration

SWAMI A. PARTHASARATHY

At the heart of House of Vedanta stands Swami A. Parthasarathy — philosopher, author, and founder of the Vedanta Academy, India. A living example of Vedanta in practice. His life radiates the rare harmony between wisdom and action — a demonstration that philosophy is not to be spoken alone, but lived.

Through over a dozen books, including Vedanta Treatise: The Eternities, The Fall of the Human Intellect, and Governing Business & Relationships, Swamiji has built a monumental body of knowledge that forms the foundation of all we share. Each page is a distillation of timeless truth — guiding us to think clearly, act nobly, and live joyfully amidst the flux of life.

His presence has been our compass, his words our anchor, his example our call to rise above the ordinary. Every class, talk, and conversation we share is rooted in his timeless message: that peace and happiness are not found outside, but unfold from within through the awakening of the human intellect.
